  • Do any of your products contain allergens?

    Yes, except for 2 products. Our Gluten Free BELLA VITA Sausage  is free of lactose, wheat and gluten. Our Gluten Free Pepperoni does not contain wheat or gluten but has lactose. All other products may contain wheat, gluten or lactose. Please refer to the ingredient list of your favorite product.

  • Do your salamis contain nitrates? And just what are nitrates anyway?

    Yes. We use nitrites in the salt to cure our product. Nitrites are a natural component of vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, celery, beets & spinach, to name a few. We add nitrites because it helps to make our product safe by inhibiting growth of bacteria, and it also helps to keep the natural color of the pork. All cured meats contain nitrites in some form. Fun Fact : The potassium nitrate in saltpeter kills Clostridium botulinum, the deadly bacterium that causes botulism. The nitrate also preserved the pink color of the meat.

  • How long can I keep your products in the refrigerator with a closed seal?

    Our amazing Italian sausages have a maximum shelf life of 18 days so please refer to the best before date on the package. Our authentic cooked charcuteries and pepperoni have a maximum shelf life of 45 to 60 days, and our traditional dry cured charcuteries have up to 180 days. Again, please refer to best before date on packaging.  

  • I cannot find Roma products where I do my groceries? What can I do?

    If you’re unable to find a product that you have seen on our website, or one that has previously been available in your local grocery store,  you can visit our website and click on our product page as it tells you which stores carry the variety you're after. Alternatively, ask the store’s meat or deli manager if you can place an order or email us at info@alimentsroma.com and we will gladly help .

  • What is the refrigerated product shelf life after opening the package?

    We recommend consuming prepackaged fresh sausages within 3 days after opening. We recommend consuming prepackaged cooked and cured charcuteries within 7 days after opening.  

  • Where does Roma foods source its pork

    We source 90% of our raw pork from Quebec farms. Their focus is to provide us with high-quality meat.
