Pizza  with  Sausage,  Fennel  and  Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 15–20 slices of cooked ROMA Mild Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1 small fennel bulb, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup cherry or grape tomatoes, halved
  • 125 ml (½ cup) tomato sauce
  • 250 ml (1 cup) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp) olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place the oven rack in the middle position. Preheat the oven to 225°C (450°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, heat a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the fennel over medium heat for 3–4 minutes until it begins to soften. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the pizza dough. Top with cheese, sausage slices, sautéed fennel, and tomatoes.
  4. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and lightly browned.
