Pizza  with  Italian  Sausage  and  Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 1 ball of homemade or store-bought pizza dough
  • 250 ml (1 cup) crème fraîche
  • 250 g (2 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 250 g (8 oz) mixed mushrooms (e.g., button, cremini, shiitake), roughly sliced
  • 225 g (½ lb) Roma Mild Italian sausage meat (about 2 sausages)
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 4 cups arugula

Instructions

  1. Place the oven rack in the middle position. Preheat the oven to 225°C (450°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a floured surface, roll out the dough as thinly as possible to roughly the size of your baking sheet. Transfer the dough onto the prepared sheet.
  3. Spread the crème fraîche evenly over the dough. Layer the mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, sausage meat, and bell pepper on top. Season with freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and cooked through.
  5. Transfer the pizza to a cutting board. Let stand a few minutes. Top with arugula and serve.
